Paddling the White River – Day #1

This video is the first day of a three day paddle on the White River that is located in the lower peninsula of Michigan. The entire route will take us from Hesperia to White Lake on the western side of Michigan. Day #1 will take us from Hesperia, MI to a few miles downriver of Pines Point Campground.

During this first paddle day, we were fortunate to see King Salmon running upstream. It was glorious and the first time I have seen this type of thing with my own eyes. The day paddle was uneventful and we disbursed camped in public lands on the river bank. In the early evening while it was still ight, thunderstorms came rolling through. It continued to rain until around midnight and then lightly sprinkled into the early morning hours.
