This video is Day 12 of a hike across Michigan from Lake Huron to Lake Michigan. The trail is called the Michigan Shore-to-Shore Trail. It begins in Oscoda, MI and ends in Empire, MI. It is somewhere between 215 and 235 miles depending on what trails are followed.
Day 12 of our hike began at the intersection of Grass Lake Road & Darke Road. We did walk north on Darke Road on Day 11, but we later found out the STS has been rerouted due to a flooded portion of the trail in a swamp area. We started walking at 9:00am and finished for the day at around 12:30pm. It was all roads that were mostly paved. The weather was glorious.
Pixie, my Golden Retriever was not with us due to the potential ticks. After Day 13, she will be back! Upon completing this portion of the trail, we retrieved our vehicles and had a great dinner! After this walk, we are 145 miles on the trail! Hurray!
Trip Summary: Total Time = 4 hours 42 minutes. Moving Time = 3 hours 31 minutes. Distance = 10.0 miles.
