This video is paddling the South Branch of the Au Sable River from Chase Bridge Canoe Launch to the Smith Bridge Boat Launch. This paddle travels through the heart of the Mason Tract with the remains of the Durant’s Castle, the Mason Chapel, and Dogtown. Check out this website for additional information about these areas.

In this video are J. D. in the bow of the Mad River Revelation canoe with me in the stern. Fred is paddling his solo kayak. This Day #1 was a glorious 10.3 mile paddle on July 28, 2023. Next week will be Day #2 finishing up the South Branch and entering the main Au Sable River.
