ATV Riding the Tomahawk Trail

This video is an evening of riding ATV’s on the Tomahawk Trail near Indian River, MI. My son Kyle and I drove all of the 50″ trails. The trail is advanced when compared to most of the trails in the lower peninsula of Michigan. It is a beautiful ride and welcomed time in the outdoors.

We drove the trail clockwise. At least the first half of the trail is non-remarkable. Standard fare, flat, and could be compared to most trails in the lower peninsula. The second half has many complex elevation changes. Turns while going up and down some of these elevations. At least one climb and decent had something comparable to a switchback. The rider above could see the rider below going in the opposite direction.

During this early June ride, there was a section that was marked closed due to water over trail. We decided to ride it anyway. This was an muddy area and we were able to drive through it with some creative re-routing.

We thank those that keep the trail maintenance up and their dedication to the work.
