This video is the second day of a three day paddle on the White River that is located in the lower peninsula of Michigan. The entire route will take us from Hesperia to White Lake on the western side of Michigan. Day #2 will take us a few miles downriver of Pines Point Campground to just beyond the Trading Post/Sawmill Canoe Landing.
On this second day of paddling, there were at least three portages around log jams and fallen trees. Other than the portages and Fred getting wet, the day paddle was uneventful and we disbursed camped in public lands on the river bank. In the late evening we setup camp and had dinner after dark.
Our original plans were to stay at Diamond Point Campground. However, there are only four campsites and on Labor Day Weekend, we figured there was no point in checking for an empty campsite. We kept paddling and racked up 18.2 miles.
Trip Summary: Total Time = 9 hours 0 minutes. Moving Time = 6 hours 47 minute. Distance = 18.2 miles.
