This video is an afternoon paddle on the Haymarsh Lake State Game Area located near Big Rapids, MI. This short paddle was with my Granddaughter Emma. It was a windy day, but the temperatures were comfortable.
During the paddle, we went to shore on the eastern bank to look for Morels. We were not successful. Taking advantage of being out in nature, we looked over trees and spent time talking about ways to identify each kind. Also, we talked about how to use certain trees and plants for survival strategies.
