Paddling the Michigan Inland Waterway – Day 3

This video is the Day 3 paddle of the Michigan Inland Waterway. This last day included a substantial lock to lower us into the remainder of the river and Lake Huron. The paddle was uneventful. We could not start our paddle from the campground, Aloha State Park due to the wind and waves. Instead, we used a public launch on the north end of Mullet Lake.

On Day 3, we paddled smarter so we were a bit safer. Starting on the north end of Mullet Lake allowed us to safely enter the mouth of the Cheboygan River. This approach made it easy for us to leave the beach even in the higher winds that built up on the eastern shoreline.

The wind was a bit of a challenge in the wider portions of the Cheboygan River. However, it was very manageable. Before ending the paddle, we looped into Lake Huron so we could say we did!
